Creative Director Marvin Krasnow, known as Marvin K., founded the brand in 1989 from his native city of Montreal, Canada. Witnessing the harsh effects of Montreal winters on women’s footwear, the city’s extreme climate sparked the Aquatalia credo – provide women with the luxury of looking good and the confidence their footwear will stand up to the elements.

Every Aquatalia design is meticulously crafted in Italy to exacting standards. Marvin K. visits Milan several times a year to ensure that Italian craftsmanship, cutting-edge technology and European style are evident in every Aquatalia creation.

Fashion Director Rena Krasnow, working closely with her father Marvin on product development, also directs global operations from the company’s New York City showroom on 57th Street in the heart of the city.

Aquatalia went from the fashion insider and career woman’s best-kept secret to a style obsession when Kate Middleton began wearing Aquatalia footwear to public events. The Duchess of Cambridge chose Aquatalia because it perfectly matched her signature fashionable, and lifestyle centered classic style.

Aquatalia collections can be found at leading department stores and luxury retailers across North America, including Bergdorf Goodman, Saks Fifth Avenue, Nordstrom, Neiman Marcus, Browns, and Holt Renfrew. International retailers include Russell and Bromley in the United Kingdom, as well as prestige retailers in Australia, Mexico, Israel, South Africa and Japan.
